Saint Michael’s Church was built in 1631. It was wanted by Giustina D’Amato.
It’s still today the siege of Saint Michael Archangel’s Congregation, founded in
1620.
It was first built as the tomb for a nobleman, and then it became the quarter chapel. Inside, there is a wooden statue representing the Virgin of Carmine, made up by Bagnasco’s or Quattrocchi’s schools, in the XVIII century. There are also two oil paintings, made up in 1786, representing St. Joseph, the Holy Child and St. Eligius, the Saint who healed the animals, painted while he is healing a horse with a broken
leg.
Though of medium size, the church has a big stucco decoration, with flowers and geometrical figures on a blue background, well integrated in the architectural plant.
The rectangular presbytery has a big multicoloured marble altar attached to the wall.
