On Pizzo Parrino
Along the national route 118, after Marineo, turning on the right before Lake Scanzano and going on along this street, you will reach Pizzo Parrino. There are, there, parts of an ancient wood once united to Ficuzza forest. The most important trees present in this area are chestnuts and oaks. In the disforested area the gramineceous plants are present everywhere, while among the rocks shrubs and grasses are mixed together on a calcareous substrate. Lower, where the slope is less accentuated, the surface is cultivated with olive trees, vines, wheat and grazing.
