Acqua del Pioppo
farm
For those who want it, it is possible to take a difficult but interesting walk along a part of the river. The difficulties will be rewarded by the vision of very beautiful places. You must walk along a bristling path which, from the bridge, leads to the river soundings.
The houses, surrounded by many big trees, such as mulberries, form an elegant little three-floor palace, crowned by a stone battlement. The main façade looks out into the inside court. At the entry, there is an embattled tower to defend the beam, while the rest of the buildings are used as cellars with very big presses and several wine barrels. They are also used as storehouses for food, as shelters or stalls. Once, the wine produced here was very well known.
Another feature of this place is the peacocks the marquis has always wanted in his farm. The main façade is painted in white and pink bands, whose decorative effect is very strong. The court is paved with cobble-stones and all this, together with the stairs, creates an outstanding scenery. Inside the beam, there is a source of pure water, which quenches the thirst of the visitors and of the people living
there.
